Sycuan Donates $6,000 to Grossmont Cuyamaca College

March 16, 2021

On Friday, March 12, Sycuan Casino Resort proudly donated $6,000 to the Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges in support of their 2021 Scholarships. The scholarships directly support students studying a variety of industries including Tourism & Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Administration of Justice.

“We are very honored to partner with The Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges and their incredible scholarship program,” said Cody J. Martinez, Chairman, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. “The scholarships provided by the foundation are imperative because they directly benefit students that need much-needed access to funding to further their education. It is important for us to continue to support and invest in the bright future of these students through the scholarship program, mentorships and even potential employment opportunities at Sycuan in their areas of study.”

Sycuan has partnered on several initiatives over the years with the Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges including donating to the Grossmont Food Pantry, supplying high-quality cookware to hundreds of culinary students and providing scholarship funding for twelve students per year since 2018.

Additionally, the Sycuan Executive Team has enjoyed being a dedicated resource and mentor for the many students that have received these scholarships.
