Born and raised in Southeast San Diego, music has always been at the core of who I am. From junior high through high school and into my early adult years, I carried my iPod everywhere—loaded with what many called the best music library around. I wasn’t just listening to music; I was setting the vibe. So much so that friends started asking me to bring my iPod to house parties, and just like that, I became the go-to music curator.

As times changed and platforms evolved from iPods to Apple Music and SoundCloud, my love for music didn’t fade—it adapted. I started crafting playlists on my phone, each one tailored to the mood, the moment, the memory. I was still curating vibes, just in a new format.

Then came the COVID lockdown. With more time than ever to reflect, I made a decision: it was time to stop playing around and actually become a DJ. I started practicing, studying, and building my skill set. My playlists found a new home on Serato, and the rest is history.

From house party vibes to live sets, I’m still doing what I’ve always done—just with a bigger sound system.

DJ Jilla

With roots in Chicago and over 15 years behind the decks, DJ Jilla is an open-format DJ known for seamless mixing, crowd control, and creating unforgettable experiences. Influenced by Chicago’s rich musical culture, his sound blends Hip-Hop, R&B, House, Top 40, Afrobeats, Latin, Throwbacks, and today’s biggest hits into high-energy sets tailored to every audience.

Throughout his career, DJ Jilla has performed at nightclubs, festivals, corporate events, weddings, and private celebrations across Chicago, Orlando, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego, earning a reputation for professionalism, versatility, and an ability to elevate any room. Whether performing for an intimate crowd or a packed venue, every set is crafted in real time to keep the energy high and the dance floor moving.

Born Atlanta native, Tre Jackson, also known as DJ H3 is known for bringing unmatched energy and reading every crowd with precision. DJ H3 has built a reputation for creating unforgettable experiences wherever he performs. Specializing in Hip-Hop, R&B, Top 40, Afrobeats, and party anthems, he blends seamless transitions with high-energy sets that keep dance floors packed from start to finish. Whether it’s a nightclub, rooftop party, private event, wedding, or community celebration. More than just playing music, DJ H3 creates moments that people remember long after the night is over.

DJ Birdy Bird

Hailing from the vibrant city of San Diego, DJ Birdy Bird has carved a niche for himself in the music scene with an infectious blend of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic beats. With a passion for music that ignited in his teenage years, he has spent over a decade perfecting his craft and captivating audiences with his dynamic performances.

Known for his energetic sets that seamlessly mix classic tracks with the latest hits, DJ Birdy Bird has become a go-to DJ for events at some of the hottest venues in San Diego. His unique ability to read the crowd and create an unforgettable atmosphere has earned him a loyal following.

Beyond spinning tracks, DJ Birdy Bird is dedicated to promoting local talent and supporting the San Diego music community. Whether he’s headlining a rooftop party or playing at a laid-back beach gathering, his love for music and connection with fans shine through every beat.

Chef Quinnton Austin

Executive Chef Quinnton Austin is a “celebrity status” restaurant and hospitality professional. Making the trek from New Orleans to San Diego, Chef Quinnton – AKA “Chef Q” – brings a Southern flare to our local dining scene. With roots in Louisiana and early experience delving into the Bayou’s culinary culture, San Diego’s in for a real treat. His formal training at the Culinary Institute of New Orleans laid the groundwork for a well-seasoned career, working up the food chain from Assistant Corporate Chef, Test Kitchen Chef, Sous Chef, Chef De Cuisine to award-winning Executive Chef at some of Louisiana’s top spots to dine.

Chef Quinnton’s past experience spans the globe, with French, Caribbean and Italian exposure, spicing up his ever-evolving repertoire. He stays true to a self-imposed commitment to treat food as art, and his bold creativity, paired with his sophisticated palate has resulted in the creation of dishes that guests have been salivating over since he first stepped foot into the kitchen.

Among Chef Quinnton’s accomplishments is his involvement with Louisiana’s renowned Cinclare Rustic Southern Cuisine and Chop House. This scratch-made kitchen features a rotating seasonal menu, where Chef Q started the kitchen from the ground up, served as their Master of Meats and Executive Chef, successfully running the fine dining establishment, which along with only three other establishments, went on to win Best New Restaurant in Louisiana in 2017.

The momentum continues for Chef Quinnton as he brings a refreshing taste of the Bayou to San Diego at Louisiana Purchase, with a stylish menu centered around reimagined versions of modern and classic New Orleans-style comfort foods.

Chef Phillip Humphrey

Culinary Visionary, Community Advocate, and Family Man

Chef Phillip Humphrey is a San Diego native whose passion for food was ignited early on in his mother’s kitchen. His culinary journey began at the Art Institute of California – San Diego, where he honed his skills and developed his signature style. Today, Phillip is the Executive Chef at Coco Maya, a vibrant Creole-Caribbean-inspired restaurant.

Phillip recently celebrated his first year as Executive Chef at Coco Maya, a milestone marked by the restaurant’s award of the OpenTable People’s Choice Award. This honor was driven by the incredible response to their dishes during the Taste of Little Italy culinary event, which highlighted Phillip’s ability to create flavors that resonate with the community and beyond.

Phillip is also deeply involved in community service, dedicating his time and talent to making a difference. He volunteered as part of the Community Call to Action, an initiative that brought together chefs and industry professionals to feed 1,000 people impacted by the devastating floods that struck San Diego on January 22, 2024. Phillip generously contributed his time to prepare meals for those in need, embodying his commitment to supporting his community during challenging times. Additionally, Coco Maya also participated in the Dining for Disaster Relief initiative, a give-back program that directed 50% of proceeds to the Los Angeles Food Bank to support victims of the Los Angeles fires. Phillip also had the opportunity to work with youth in the community, sharing his experiences and inspiring the next generation to pursue their passions.

Chef Phillip’s philosophy is simple: food is more than sustenance—it’s a way to tell stories, create memories, and bring people together. Under his leadership, Coco Maya continues to thrive as a place where great food meets community and culture, leaving a lasting impact on San Diego’s culinary scene.
