Sycuan Casino Resort Joined Hands with Susan G. Komen San Diego
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S., accounting for 31 percent of newly diagnosed cancers, according to Susan G. Komen. In response, Sycuan Casino Resort donated $15,000 to Susan G. Komen San Diego on Friday, Oct. 4, to help combat breast cancer.

“Longstanding partnerships like ours provide a foundation to our vital work of spreading awareness, providing education, and inspiring our supporters,” said Leia Brune, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen. “Together, we’re saving lives!”

Sycuan Tribal Council members presented the donation to sponsors the nonprofit’s 2024 Komen San Diego MORE THAN PINK Walk, which raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support. The event also honors survivors and those fighting breast cancer with an opening ceremony, a walk and various educational activities.

Our support also continues to sustain the nonprofit’s groundbreaking research, community health outreach and patient support services, ensuring San Diegans have the necessary resources and support to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Sycuan Casino Resort Participates in the More Than Pink Walk
Members from Sycuan Casino Resort laced up their shoes to make a powerful statement of hope, unity and determination to fight against breast cancer during Susan G. Komen’s More Than Pink Walk on Nov. 3.

With each, Sycuan team members walked together at Balboa Park to support critical research, lifesaving treatments against cancer, and connected with cancer survivors who shared their inspiring stories and passion in fighting cancer.

The walk did not only bring awareness to fighting cancer; it was a pivotal moment to raise funds that will have a strong impact on the care available to all cancer patients. The proceeds help Susan G. Komen fulfill their mission of investing in research to improve cancer and the lives of cancer patients.
