TEMPORARY CLOSURE NOTICE

March 27, 2020 Update:

The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation has announced that the temporary closure of Sycuan Casino Resort will be extended until further notice as there are too many unknowns to confidently provide a date.

Sycuan Team Members will continue to receive their full benefits package through at least April 30, 2020. Those Team Members who were still employed when the full closure was announced, will receive pay through April 3, 2020. Beyond that date, Team Members will be able to use their PTO balances and/or apply for unemployment benefits. Guests will also receive full refunds for any hotel reservations booked during this extended period.

“While we originally indicated this was to last until March 31, it has become clear that is not possible,” said Cody J. Martinez, Chairman, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. “We are as anxious as everyone to reopen and get back to normal. We are paying close attention to what our public health professionals are saying, the actions of our elected leaders and the decisions of others who own businesses. At this point, the businesses that are closed will remain closed until it is clear from a public health and safety perspective that the regional restrictions in place will be lifted. We are all in this together and we will get through this together and hopefully that is very soon. We appreciate and value the hard work and dedication from our team members and know and believe that the future is bright for Sycuan.”

March 18, 2020 Update:

With direction from our Tribal Council, Sycuan Casino Resort will be temporarily closing amid continuing COVID-19 concerns. This closure will become effective on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 12PM, through at least the end of March. The Sycuan Market will remain open.

During this temporary closure, all Sycuan Team Members will continue to be paid with no impact to available Paid Time Off (PTO) balances and no disruption to medical and dental coverage through at least March 31, 2020.

Guests will receive full refunds for any hotel reservations booked during this time period. Guests can expect a cancellation email by end of day, March 18. Any funds collected for room reservations will be reversed and should be returned to guests within the next 7-10 business days. All third party booking sites have been notified of the closure period and reservations will be cancelled accordingly.

For group reservations and events that fall within this temporary closure period, please contact groupsales@sycuan.com to reschedule.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the following shows have either been rescheduled or cancelled (your current tickets will be honored for rescheduled dates):

If the show has been cancelled, refunds will automatically be issued if you purchased online or with a credit card. For those who purchased with cash, in-person, please call the Casino Box Office to inquire about a refund.

MEDICAL AND DENTAL CLINIC: OPEN

Dear Valued Patients, please be advised that the Sycuan Medical Dental Center is still remaining open with our normal hours.

We are taking the necessary precautions to screen all patients before arrival, so please call ahead to schedule. When possible, please avoid walk-in appointments as we prefer to perform a phone screen prior to your arrival.

We are offering telephone appointments if you do not feel comfortable coming in, however, we are still seeing patients in the clinic.

The Dental clinic is also remaining open to provide limited emergency and urgent care to established patients.

Additionally, our pharmacy will remain open, and is offering to mail prescriptions if desired, but you can still pick up your medications on site.

At this time, we are not providing testing for COVID-19, but a provider will discuss any concerns, and will determine where to go if testing is needed.

Everything is subject to change, but we are committed to your health and welfare, and will continue to keep our community updated.

What happens to my offers while you are closed? Will I get new offers once you are open again?

Thank you for your loyalty. We value our guests and once operations resume, we will honor any pending and unredeemed offers from the March closure period. This includes the March Gas Card and Walmart Gift Card giveaways. New offers will be available once operations resume. What happens to my Club Sycuan account while you are closed?

Your Club Sycuan membership is important to us. Your current Club Sycuan point and comp balances will remain active through the closure and we are protecting your Club Sycuan membership level. As such, we will extend your six-month Club Sycuan membership to allow additional time to earn/maintain your current/new Club Sycuan membership level.

Are you still honoring the FREEplay Frenzy promotion and the Birthday promotion for March?

A new date will be planned for the March FREEplay Frenzy. If you didn’t have the chance to participate in our March Birthday promotion, we will extend this promotion once operations resume. Be on the lookout for exciting new promotions and giveaways!

How do I get a copy of my Win/Loss Statement for my Taxes?

Your privacy matters. Win/Loss requests can be submitted through our website. To protect your account information, during the temporary closure, Win/Loss statements will be suspended. Once operations resume, Win/Loss requests will be processed. Please allow up to two weeks for processing.

When can I book a future reservation for your hotel? What happens if I have a current reservation while you are closed?

Will you clean your casino while you are closed?

The health and safety of our guests and team members is of the utmost importance to us here at Sycuan. Out of an abundance of caution amid the COVID-19 concern we have not only adhered to all guidelines and directives given to us by the CDC, WHO and other government agencies, but have gone well beyond in an effort to keep our guests and Team Members safe. Cleaning efforts and health practices will continue putting your health first, even when guests are not present.

Are you paying your staff while you are closed?

During this temporary closure, all Sycuan Team Members will continue to be paid with no impact to available Paid Time Off (PTO) balances and no disruption to medical and dental coverage through at least March 31, 2020.

I bought an advance reservation for a bingo event. What happens with my reservation?

What about my expiring slot vouchers?

Please bring any Sycuan Casino Resort slot vouchers that expired during the closure (March 20 – March 31) to a cashier to redeem when operations resume. A cashier will be happy to assist you.
