In 2008, a group of dedicated Sycuan Casino employees formed the Sycuan Casino Green Team. The 14- member group is dedicated to supporting the environment by developing proactive recycling programs and educating its team members on the importance of the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
The team is committed to doing its part to improve the future of the community including: donating unwanted cell phones that are used in exchange for calling cards for deployed service members to call home, safely recycling all batteries property wide, implementing a recycling program on-site in all offices and team member areas and so much more. Additionally, the casino recently installed eight charging stations in its parking garage to accommodate guests with electric cars.
Cell Phones for Soldiers Turns old cell phones into phone cards for active-duty military members and veterans. Sycuan Team Members have donated over 1,600 cell phones to this program since we started participating in 2008. In 2016, the Sycuan team donated a total of 362 Cell Phones.
