Sycuan Casino Resort Donates $25,000

During Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego’s 31st Anniversary Golf Marathon, Sycuan Casino Resort donated $25,000 to the nonprofit organization at Singing Hills Golf Club on Thursday, June 21.

What Happened at the Event?

It was a warm, sunny June morning when Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego, Tribal councils, participants, and mentors (‘Bigs’) were all smiles as children (‘Littles’) facing adversity enjoyed playing golf with their ‘Bigs.’ During the event, ‘Bigs’ bolstered their ‘Littles’ confidence, aspirations, and relationship with family while Sycuan Casino Resort donated $25,000 to support the nonprofit organization’s efforts.

Where Will the Charity Funds Go?

Sycuan Casino Resort’s donation intends to support Big Brothers Big Sisters resources and mission to help children realize their potential and build their future through one-to-one mentoring relationships from their ‘Bigs.’

“Big Brothers Big Sisters extends our heartfelt gratitude to Sycuan for supporting evidence-based, one-to-one mentoring in San Diego County,” Big Brother Big Sisters of San Diego County CEO & President, Tina Rose said. “Together we’re igniting the power and promise of our local youth.”

Recap of the Event

As the sun set during the uplifting event, the golf marathon was a success. Attendees, children, and mentors spent time swinging clubs together. Mentors also connected and guided children toward a successful educational, family, and professional life.
