Sycuan Casino Resort Celebrates the Animal Pad With Joe Musgrove

Sycuan Casino Resort hosted a summer pool party, Padres at the Pool, while honoring and donating $10,000 to The Animal Pad at Retreat Pool & Cabanas. The event brought together Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove, along with other current and Alumni Padres players, the Swinging Friar, the Pad Squad, and fans to celebrate The Animal Pad.

“Sycuan is honored to contribute $10,000 for their life-saving mission. All donations are used for the care, transport, medical needs, and foster or adoption placement of the rescued dogs,” Sycuan Chairman Cody Martinez said

During our event, Sycuan Chairman Cody Martinez gave a heartfelt speech, voicing his support for The Animal Pad’s mission, and presented them with a generous check. The donation will help The Animal Pad in rescuing all breeds of dogs from high-kill shelters and the streets of Mexico.

“Being able to be grateful for the amount of support we’ve had come from these two here [Sycuan Casino Resort and Musgrove] and the community has been so awesome,” Executive Director at The Animal Pad, Lauren Botticelli said.

With so much joy and gratitude lighting up the pool deck, attendees felt the powerful support between us and The Animal Pad. Additionally, attendees clapped their hands as Musgrove shared his speech, expressing his gratitude towards us and The Animal Pad’s impact on his life.

“The Animal Pad were able to, you know, secure us and line us up with a dog of our own. He’s changed our lives and we’re very grateful for you guys and the work that you do to create that opportunity,” Musgrove said.

Attendees were not only reminded of The Animal Pad’s importance to our community, but they also enjoyed a meet-and-greet with the San Diego Padres. Attendees waited in line to pose for a complimentary professional photo with Padres players Joe Musgrove, Brandon Lockridge, Stephen Kolek, and Sean Reynolds, as well as Alumni Padres players Greg Garcia, Archi Cianfrocco, and Kurt Bevacqua.

To keep the party going, attendees also interacted with the Swinging Friar and the Pad Squad by dancing and taking pictures together. With upbeat mixes from a live DJ, summer cocktails, and poolside bites, attendees celebrated The Animal Pad’s efforts in style.
