Sycuan Celebrates its 32nd Anniversary

December 1, 2015

San Diego’s longest continually operational casino, Sycuan, will mark its 32nd year in business this past November.

Once known as the Sycuan Bingo Palace, the property opened its doors in 1983 as a 20,000 square foot gaming facility founded by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation – a group that has inhabited the current San Diego and Imperial Counties longer than the pyramids have been in Egypt. It was not until the year 2000 when voters showed support for Indian gaming and approved Proposition 1A that the casino was able to open the current 305,000 square foot building.

Today, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, along with Sycuan Casino, have dedicated themselves to being both a leader in the local gaming market as well as a philanthropic leader. Sycuan is committed to giving back to the community that made it successful, supporting over 700 local charities and community partners in the last year alone.

The casino includes world-class gaming options, top-notch dining and premier live entertainment. Home to 2000 slots, table games, poker, bingo and more, the casino is truly San Diego’s best gaming destination.

To mark its anniversary milestone, Sycuan Casino kicked off a month-long, casino-wide event on Sunday, November 1st. Guests had the opportunity to win their portion of $500,000 in cash and prizes through various promotions. Poker players had the chance to go “all-in” and win a Nissan Versa through play starting at the beginning of the month. In the Hot Seat Drawings promotion, table games winners won their share of $32,000 all month long. Bingo players were able to win their share of over $150,000 in payouts plus a Mercedes with advance buy-in. Those looking for a delicious meal for an incredible price enjoyed a two for $32 steak special in Sycuan’s Wachena Restaurant throughout the entire month.

The official anniversary for Sycuan Casino was November 21st and was marked with an all-day anniversary celebration! Festivities included:
