Lorenzo Antonio

Allow yourself to be swept away by the powerful voice of Lorenzo Antonio, award-winning Mexican-American singer/songwriter. Antonio’s father taught him how to sing and play “La Bamba” on the guitar when he was just five years old. Antonio got his professional start at the age of 12 when he and his sisters won first place in the wildly popular “Jueguemos A Cantar” contest in with his song “Vamos A Jugar,” which went on to sell over one million copies.

Antonio catapulted to stardom during the 80s and 90s, touring extensively through Latin America and the US. He had several Billbaord Top Latin Song chart hits, including “Como Me Gustas,” “Dile,” “Septiembre,” “Muchachita,” “Busco Un Amor,” “No Lloraré,” “Eres Divina,” “La Última Carta,” and “Cómo, Cuándo, Y Porqué?”—an original song written and given to him by Mexican singer Juan Gabriel. Perhaps his greatest hit is “Doce Rosas,” which topped charts and to this day is considered one of the best and most well-known Latin ballads of the ‘80s.

Sparx is an American band from New Mexico comprised of the four Sanchez sisters—Verónica, Rosamaria, Kristyna, and Carolina. Born into a musical family, this talented group of ladies rose to fame in the ‘90s singing a variety of Latin pop songs, corridos, cumbias, and boleros.

Sparx amassed millions of fans, sold millions of albums, and toured all over the US and Latin America. Several of their hits like “El De Los Ojos Negros,” “Quiero Que Me Vuelvas A Querer,” “Que Debo Hacer,” and “Te Amo, Te Amo, Te Amo” placed in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Latin charts. They were also nominated for Billboard awards and received awards from Furia Musical.

Their new album “Juntas Otra Vez,” is aplty named since they are together again doing what they love most. Eight of the 10 songs on the album were composed by their brother and father. The ladies often collaborate with their brother, Lorenzo Antonio, a renowned singer in his own right. Although many of the tracks are done in their signature style, Sparx also shows innovation with boleros like “Creando Recuerdos,” “Ojitos De Miel,” and “El Hombre De Mi Vida.”
