Sycuan Celebrates Older Americans Month

May 17, 2021

Historically, Older Americans Month has been a time to acknowledge the contributions of past and current older persons to our country, in particular those who defended our country. Every President since Kennedy has issued a formal proclamation during or before the month of May asking that the entire nation pay tribute in some way to older persons in their communities. Older Americans Month is celebrated across the country through ceremonies, events, fairs, and other such activities.

This May, Sycuan Casino Resort is celebrating Older Americans Month by proudly donating $5,000 to Serving Seniors in support of their 2021 Sunshine Gala, volunteering and also enhancing its Club 55 membership program with additional perks.

“Sycuan is fortunate enough today to present a check for $5,000 in financial support to this center,” said Cody Martinez, Chairman, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation. “Their mission is to provide services and meals for seniors here, a majority of who are homeless or are on very limited and low income. Sycuan is happy and proud to be here today with our fellow team members to be able to volunteer and also provide financial support for the organization.”

Additionally, Sycuan’s Club 55 card is a year-round Club Sycuan membership program for all adults 55 and older. This month, Club 55 is offering members the chance to win a share of over $26,000 in prizes every Sunday in May. The prizes include Slot FREEplay, Slot point multipliers, one-night hotel stays and resort credits, dinner for two and a round of golf for two at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan. Plus, Club 55 members can receive a $5 iComp to use at any food venue instantly.
