The Spinners were the greatest soul/R&B vocal group of the early ’70s, defining the distinctive sound of Philly soul with breathtaking falsetto and intricate vocal harmonies.
Ironically, its roots lay in Detroit area where they formed as a doo wop group in the late ’50s.

The group released a string of singles from 1964-1971, culminating with the Stevie Wonder-penned “It’s A Shame.” Between 1972 and 1977, it recorded a number of soul classics, including “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” “Mighty Love,” “Ghetto Child,” “Then Came You,” “Games People Play,” and “The Rubberband Man,” which reached #2 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Their biggest hit came in 1980 with “Working My Way Back to You,” which reached #2 on the Billboard charts.

The group continues to tour and remind fans everywhere of a magical era in music history.
