The Drifters was a vocal group that linked ‘50s R&B with ‘60s soul using a sweet and soulful sound infused with gospel influences to sing about the beauty found in everyday moments.

Despite multiple lineup changes over the years, each golden era of the group was a force on the US charts, collectively releasing iconic hits like “Money Honey,” “Honey Love,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Save The Last Dance For Me,” “Under The Boardwalk,” and “This Magic Moment.”

The Vocal Group Hall of Fame inducted the first Drifters fronted by Clyde McPhatter as “The Original Drifters” in 1988, then separately inducted the second Drifters featuring Ben E. King as “Ben E. King and the Drifters” in 2000. Despite personnel turnover, the group’s standard for its sweet music has always remained high.
