Padres Summer Blood Drive 2020

June 16, 2020

Tuesday, June 16 kicks off the fourth annual Padres Summer Blood Drive. Sycuan Casino Resort proudly presented $10,000 to the San Diego Blood Bank in support of the event and has been the presenting sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.

The three-day blood drive runs from Tuesday, June 16 to Thursday, June 18, 2020 and is open to the public by appointment only. The San Diego Blood Bank’s goal is to collect 100 pints per day at the event. One pint of blood can save up to three lives. Donors can visit HERE to book an appointment.

“On behalf of Sycuan, we are honored and proud to present this check to the San Diego Blood Bank,” said Rob Cinelli, general manager at Sycuan Casino Resort. “We have been partners for going on 20 years and we hope to continue this partnership for many years to come. We want to thank them for all of the incredible work they do in our community.”

“The San Diego Blood Bank is very appreciative and grateful for our partnership with Sycuan Casino Resort, said Sherry Serio, vice president of development at San Diego Blood Bank. “This $10,000 donation will help support our new Blood Mobiles, which are responsible for over 50% of all blood collections per year and will help save thousands of lives. We would not be able to do this without the support from Sycuan.”

“This is the San Diego Padres’ fourth year supporting the San Diego Blood Bank and doing the blood drive out at Petco Park,” said Randy Jones, former pitcher for the San Diego Padres.  “The next three days will be encouraging to make a difference here in our community, just as Sycuan has done for the last 20 years.”
