Los Caminantes: 8pm Friday, July 12

Hailing from the Mexican region of Guanajuato, brothers Augstín, Brigido, Horacio, and Martín, along with friend Humberto Navarro, formed the group Los Caminantes Aztecas, which later became Los Caminantes—a versatile mariachi, banda, rancheras, and norteña group.

The group recorded its first single, “Super Perder” in 1982, which became an instant hit. They went on to release two gold albums, which included songs like “Ven Abrázame,” “Cuando Dos Almas,” “El Puente Roto,” “Hay Palomita,” “Tu Nuevo Cariñito,” “Mi Niña,” “La Guitarra Y La Mujer,” “Dos Cartas Y Una Flor,” “Lágrimas Al Recordar,” among several others. In 1986, the group suffered an immense loss when member Martín Ramírez was killed in a car crash. They decided to carry on in his honor, dedicating their next album to him, titled “Gracias Martín.”

Los Caminantes was the first group to completely sell out two famous venues in Mexico City—El Zócalo and the California Dancing Club—which then led to opportunities to perform all over Latin America. Although some of its members have changed, the group continues to bring its unique sound and fun energy to adoring fans all over Mexico, Central America, and the U.S.
